Scented candles was recalled on 27 March 2009 under EU Safety Gate alert 0413/09. Choking risk reported by Denmark. The product poses a risk of choking because, due to its characteristic form, appearance, colour, size and smell, the product may be mistaken for a foodstuff (chocolate muffin).

Risk Description
The product poses a risk of choking because, due to its characteristic form, appearance, colour, size and smell, the product may be mistaken for a foodstuff (chocolate muffin). This may lead children or visually-disabled persons to put it in their mouth, bite it and swallow pieces, which could entail the risk of asphyxia or obstruction of the digestive tract. This product does not comply with the Directive 87/357/EEC concerning products which, appearing to be other than they are, endanger the health or safety of consumers.

Product Description
A candle resembling a chocolate muffin with pink icing and 4 small sweets on the top. The candle smells like chocolate. The approximate dimensions of the candle are: 64 mm high and 75 mm wide.
