Cake slice novelty soaps was recalled on 24 December 2010 under EU Safety Gate alert 1896/10. Choking risk reported by Ireland. The product poses a risk of choking because the novelty soap consists of an imitation heart shape and two square pieces of chocolate and orange pieces that may be confused for a real piece of chocolate and fruit.

Risk Description

The product poses a risk of choking because the novelty soap consists of an imitation heart shape and two square pieces of chocolate and orange pieces that may be confused for a real piece of chocolate and fruit. All of the loose parts fit entirely into the small parts cylinder and therefore present a risk to consumer safety, in particular to children (choking, obstruction of digestive tract).The products do not comply with the Directive 87/357/EEC on products which, appearing to be other than they are, endanger the health or safety of consumers.

Product Description

Two fragrant, cake slice, novelty soaps in plastic wrapping. Bottom and top layer are white and could be mistaken for cream. The centre is brown, like chocolate, in one soap and orange in the other. On the top of the soap slice are two small pieces of square brown chocolate and a pink heart for the chocolate slice and pieces of orange for the orange slice. No country of origin, stipulated on the packaging. Dunnes Home and also the Bath Shop are indicated on the packaging.
