Recall Europe Data Methodology
Primary source
Recall records originate from the European Commission Safety Gate, the EU rapid-alert system for dangerous non-food products. Recall Europe is independent and does not create official alerts or change the official risk decision.
Import and structure
The automated pipeline maps official fields such as case number, product, brand, category, notifying country, risk type and measures taken. Records are organised into brand, country, category and alert pages. The official case number remains the primary reference when checking a record.
Translations
Translated pages improve discovery in five languages, but the official source record controls if wording differs. Names, technical terms and free-text descriptions may not translate perfectly.
Updates and limitations
- Imports normally run weekly.
- Official records can be corrected or expanded after publication.
- Similar product names do not prove that every variant is affected.
- Images and brand fields can be missing or inconsistent in the source.
How to verify
Match the case number, model, batch and identifying details against the official Safety Gate portal. Send suspected processing errors through Contact.
