Risk Description

There are gaps between the slats and openings in the folding mechanism and the bed base slats bend and fall out under load. The ladder is placed at the short side of the upper bed. A child's head could get trapped in the openings, leading to strangulation, or the child's extremities could get trapped or crushed in the folding mechanism. The child may fall out of the bed through the opening for the ladder or in case the slats release.The product does not comply with the relevant European standard EN 747.

Recommended action

Entrapment: Stop using the product. If someone is trapped, do not force the body part free — call emergency services if needed. Contact the retailer for a return. Injuries: Stop using the product immediately. Check yourself and family members for any injuries. Store the product safely out of reach and contact the retailer or manufacturer for a replacement or refund. Strangulation: Remove the product from the child's environment immediately. Cut any cords or strings if they cannot be safely removed. Never leave children unsupervised with products that have loose cords.

Who is at risk?

Young children are most at risk of entrapment injuries. All users, particularly children and elderly people who may be more vulnerable to injury. Infants and young children are at the highest risk of strangulation from cords, strings, and loops.
