Risk Description
The product contains an excessive amount of cadmium (measured value: 1.2 ppm).Cadmium is harmful to human health because it accumulates in the body, can damage the kidneys and bones and it may cause cancer.Additionally, according to the list of ingredients, the product contains the colourant pigment yellow 14 (CI 21095), which releases the aromatic amine 3,3'-dichlorobenzidine.This aromatic amine is skin sensitiser and may also cause cancer. The Council of Europe Resolution ResAP (2008)1 on requirements and criteria for the safety of tattoos and permanent make-up, recommends that the levels of cadmium do not exceed 0,2 ppm and that aromatic amines with carcinogenic mutagenic, reprotoxic or sensitising properties should neither be present nor released from azo-colourants.
