Yaris, Verso S. was recalled on 19 July 2013 under EU Safety Gate alert A12/0891/13. Injuries risk reported by Portugal. In the electric power steering control module of the vehicles concerned, condensed water droplets could attach between the terminals in the relay which supplies power to the power steering motor and cause a short circuit.

Risk Description
In the electric power steering control module of the vehicles concerned, condensed water droplets could attach between the terminals in the relay which supplies power to the power steering motor and cause a short circuit. If this occurred, the power steering assistance could stop working and an increased steering effort would have to be exerted by the driver.
