Risk Description
The toy contains a small part (squeaking mechanism) that can easily be detached. A child could put it in the mouth and choke on it. In addition, the ears of the owl protrude and may block the airways if put in the mouth.Moreover, the owl contains di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) (measured valued 14.1 % by weight). This phthalate may harm the health of children, causing possible damage to the reproductive system. According to the REACH Regulation, the phthalates DEHP, DBP and BBP are prohibited in all toys and childcare articles. The product does not comply with the requirements of the Toy Safety Directive and the relevant European standard EN 71-1.
