Universal travel adapter was recalled on 15 August 2025 under EU Safety Gate alert SR/03004/25. Electric shock risk reported by Slovakia. Due to inadequate design, a plug of a class I appliance requiring protective earthing can be inserted into the socket which does not provide for the connection of the protective conductor.

Risk Description
Due to inadequate design, a plug of a class I appliance requiring protective earthing can be inserted into the socket which does not provide for the connection of the protective conductor. Additionally, the adaptor allows two plugs to be pulled out at the same time, and after inserting one of them into the mains socket, mains voltage appears on the contact part of the other (freely accessible). The user can therefore receive an electric shock The product does not comply with the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive nor with the European standard EN 62368-1.
