Two-way electrical adaptors – Kopp Thaya and Kopp Topaz was recalled on 11 May 2007 under EU Safety Gate alert 0410/07. Fire risk reported by Slovakia. The insulated materials of both products did not pass the glow wire test at a temperature of 850 °C.

Risk Description
The insulated materials of both products did not pass the glow wire test at a temperature of 850 °C. An ignition and lasting burning of materials, which are in contact with current-carrying parts, occurred after removal of the glow-wire, which is not in compliance with requirements on inflammability of insulating material.

Product Description
Both products are made from white PVC, sold in blue-yellow bags. On packaging, there are marks THAYA Kopp Germany and TOPAZ Kopp Germany respectively and article numbers. Both products re labelled as "ABEX".
