The product poses a risk of fire owing to a manufacturing error because the posistors (i.e. resistor with positive temperature coefficients) installed in the notified TV set can overheat and burn out, resulting in unpleasant odours, smoke and the possibility of melting of the TV set. There is also a slight possibility that the TV set will catch fire. The safety device to prevent over-heating is not sufficient to prevent the malfunctioning of the posistor.
