Tricycle
Tricycle was recalled on 24 November 2006 under EU Safety Gate alert 0760/06. Choking, Injuries risk reported by Lithuania. - during tension test, the cover of protruding parts detached with force of 60 N + 2 N revealing the metallic tubes of handlebars although parts that suggest a hazard to a child must remain covered;- product does not comply with the requirement that a toy the purpose of which is to carry a child’s weight has to be constructed in a way that a child cannot fit any body parts between the moving parts and there should be a certain gap between moving parts; - product does not comply with the requirement that tricycles which have handle for pushing must be constructed in a way that the child’s foot cannot get jammed between the pedals;- during tension test, a spring which completely fits into the small part cylinder detached from the tricycle;- although a toy the purpose of which is to carry a child’s weight has to be sold with instructions for use and the necessary safety warnings, such information is missing.

Risk Description

Who is at risk?
Children under 3 years old are at highest risk. Supervise older children as well. All users, particularly children and elderly people who may be more vulnerable to injury.
