Travel charger was recalled on 17 October 2008 under EU Safety Gate alert 1139/08. Electric shock risk reported by Slovakia. The product poses a risk of electric shock because: - the construction of the converter does not comply with the requirements for safe separation of a primary winding from a secondary winding, - the length of the conductors enables by-passing of double insulation in the case of connector release and a possibility of presence of mains voltage on the exit connector, - parameters of the mains plugs do not comply with the requirements of the standard, - the product did not pass the voltage test between the output connector and the mains plug even for basic insulation.

Risk Description

The product poses a risk of electric shock because: - the construction of the converter does not comply with the requirements for safe separation of a primary winding from a secondary winding, - the length of the conductors enables by-passing of double insulation in the case of connector release and a possibility of presence of mains voltage on the exit connector, - parameters of the mains plugs do not comply with the requirements of the standard, - the product did not pass the voltage test between the output connector and the mains plug even for basic insulation. The product does not comply with the Low Voltage Directive and the European Standard EN 60950, EN 55022 and EN 55024.
