The Smurfs was recalled on 21 December 2012 under EU Safety Gate alert A12/1873/12. Choking risk reported by Denmark. The product poses the risk of choking due to the easy removal of the battery lid which may enable a child to gain access to the button cell batteries located inside the lamp.

Risk Description

The product poses the risk of choking due to the easy removal of the battery lid which may enable a child to gain access to the button cell batteries located inside the lamp. The batteries can be ingested or inhaled by small children.The toy does not comply with the Toys Safety Directive and the relevant European standard EN 71-1.
