Table lamp. was recalled on 26 January 2007 under EU Safety Gate alert 0067/07. Electric shock, Fire risk reported by Hungary. The product poses a serious risk of electric shock because:- there are sharp edges protruding into the wireways,- the basic insulated wires get into contact with accessible metal parts,- the cord anchorage can move inside the metal cover,- the unfixed wires can get pinched between the edges of the metal base plate and the lid, - the wires are not protected with bushing,- the connections of the internal wires are not sufficiently protected, since their insulation can easily move.

Risk Description
The product poses a serious risk of electric shock because:- there are sharp edges protruding into the wireways,- the basic insulated wires get into contact with accessible metal parts,- the cord anchorage can move inside the metal cover,- the unfixed wires can get pinched between the edges of the metal base plate and the lid, - the wires are not protected with bushing,- the connections of the internal wires are not sufficiently protected, since their insulation can easily move. The product poses a serious risk of fire, because during the test it tipped over on a slope of 6°, thus the surface can overheat. This product does not comply with the Low Voltage Directive and the European Standard EN 60598.
