Risk Description
The transparent plastic contains di-(2-ethylhexyl) phtalate (DEHP) (measured value up to 16.8 % by weight). This phtalate may harm the health of children, causing possible damage to the reproductive system. Moreover, the transparent plastic also contains 0,73 % by weight short chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs). The placing on the market and use of articles containing SCCPs is banned. SCCPs persist in the environment, are toxic to aquatic organisms at low concentrations and bio accumulate in wildlife and humans, posing a risk to human health and the environment. The product does not comply with the Regulation on persistent organic pollutants (POP Regulation) and according to the REACH Regulation the phtalates DEHP, DBP and BBP are prohibited in all toys and childcare articles.
