Starting cables was recalled on 21 September 2007 under EU Safety Gate alert 0933/07. Fire risk reported by Slovakia. This product poses a serious risk of fire because at simulation of thermal overload of cable, allowed temperature during the starting impulse is 135 ºC.

Risk Description

This product poses a serious risk of fire because at simulation of thermal overload of cable, allowed temperature during the starting impulse is 135 ºC. When testing, during the one starting impulse (max. 600A, 15s) the temperature of conductor reached more than 400 ºC, during the second starting impulse (max. 600A, 30s) the temperature of conductor also reached more than 400 ºC. After the tests were finished, the insulation got on fire and conductors burned down.

Product Description

Starting cable for connecting positive poles of accumulator has a black colour. Starting cable for connecting negative poles of accumulator has a red colour. On the product there is a mark of distributors for SR, Slovenia and CR, manufacturer, EAN code and article number.
