Squeeze toys was recalled on 26 October 2007 under EU Safety Gate alert 1101/07. Chemical, Choking risk reported by Hungary. The toy poses :- a risk of choking because the squeezing device fits into the small parts cylinder and can be removed with the hand, thus accessible to small children,- a chemical risk because it contains 7,2 % by weight of di-(2-etilhexil)-phthalate (DEHP), which exceed the maximum allowed limit of 0,1 % by weight.

Risk Description

The toy poses :- a risk of choking because the squeezing device fits into the small parts cylinder and can be removed with the hand, thus accessible to small children,- a chemical risk because it contains 7,2 % by weight of di-(2-etilhexil)-phthalate (DEHP), which exceed the maximum allowed limit of 0,1 % by weight.This toy does not comply with the Toys Directive, the Chemicals Restrictions Directive 76/769/EEC and the relevant European standard EN-71.

Product Description

The toy set includes 4 animals (bear, hippopotamus, and elephant). A squeezing device is inserted in each figure. Size of the package: 29x35x7 cm.

Recommended action

Chemical: Stop using the product immediately. Wash any skin that has come into contact with it. Keep it away from children. Return it to the retailer for a refund if possible. Choking: Remove the product from children immediately. Check if any small parts are missing. If a child has swallowed a part, seek medical attention immediately. Return the product to the retailer.

Anyone who has used this product, especially children, pregnant women, and people with sensitive skin. Children under 3 years old are at highest risk. Supervise older children as well.
