Soothers with chain was recalled on 25 May 2007 under EU Safety Gate alert 0463/07. Choking risk reported by Bulgaria. This product poses a risk of choking because:- during the tension test, when pulling off the teat from the ring around the main axis it became detached while applying force of less than 35 N;- during the tension test, when pulling off the ring at the right corner of the shield, the ring became detached while applying force less than 50 N.

Risk Description

This product poses a risk of choking because:- during the tension test, when pulling off the teat from the ring around the main axis it became detached while applying force of less than 35 N;- during the tension test, when pulling off the ring at the right corner of the shield, the ring became detached while applying force less than 50 N.This product does not comply with the relevant European standard EN 1400-2.

This product contains small parts that can detach and pose a choking hazard, or its size and shape make it dangerous for young children if swallowed or placed in the mouth.

Recommended action

Remove the product from children immediately. Check if any small parts are missing. If a child has swallowed a part, seek medical attention immediately. Return the product to the retailer.
