Soft toy was recalled on 24 December 2010 under EU Safety Gate alert 1925/10. Choking risk reported by Finland. The products pose a risk of choking because they contain small parts which fit in the small parts cylinder: 1) the eyes 2) the nose and an eye 3) the decorative pearl 4) the nose and the decorative pearl.

Risk Description

The products pose a risk of choking because they contain small parts which fit in the small parts cylinder: 1) the eyes 2) the nose and an eye 3) the decorative pearl 4) the nose and the decorative pearl.Furthermore, the plastic bags containing the rabbits (i.e. products 3 and 4) have an average sheet thickness of 0,010 mm ± 0,004 mm. Bags made of flexible plastics with an opening perimeter greater than 380 mm used for packaging, shall have an average sheet thickness of 0,038 mm or more.The products do not comply with the Toys Directive and with the relevant European standard EN 71.

A beige plush rabbit with a blue scarf and blue decoration, height approx. 50 cm, text “Shangjie Toy” on the label.

Recommended action

Remove the product from children immediately. Check if any small parts are missing. If a child has swallowed a part, seek medical attention immediately. Return the product to the retailer.

Children under 3 years old are at highest risk. Supervise older children as well.
