Risk Description
The rate of nickel release from the ring is too high (measured value up to 2.95 µg/cm2/week). Nickel can cause skin irritation, induce sensitisation or elicit allergic responses. Moreover, the product has an excessive concentration of cadmium (measured value: 0.93% by weight). Cadmium is harmful to human health because it accumulates in the body, can damage the kidneys and bones and it may cause cancer. The product does not comply with the REACH Regulation nor with the General Product Safety Regulation.
