Set of squeaky rubber animals “SAFETY TOYS” was recalled on 20 October 2006 under EU Safety Gate alert 0665/06. Chemical, Choking risk reported by Slovakia. The product poses a risk of:-choking because testing revealed that when the toys are pressed, the squeaking mechanisms located in the bottom section of the toys could be grasped and pulled out under a tensile force of 8 to 16 N which is significantly below the limit 90 N set in the standard.

Risk Description
The product poses a risk of:-choking because testing revealed that when the toys are pressed, the squeaking mechanisms located in the bottom section of the toys could be grasped and pulled out under a tensile force of 8 to 16 N which is significantly below the limit 90 N set in the standard. The separated squeaking mechanisms of the toys fit completely in the test cylinder for small parts. -chemical risk because the soft plastic contains more than 0.1 % by weight of di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP): -9.86 ± 0.46 % by weight in pink plastic; - 8.24 ± 0.42 % by weight in yellow plastic;-9.65 ± 0.47 % by weight in white plastic.The product does not comply with the Toys Directive and the relevant European standard EN 71-1.
