Risk Description
This product poses a serious risk of injuries because the bolt attaching the seat snaps. If the seat position is adjusted without sufficiently loosening the bolt, wear is caused to the teeth. The teeth ensure a so-called closed construction. The bolt's sole function is to hold the whole construction together, and it is subject to a pure tensile stress. The wear creates microscopic gaps, causing the teeth to wear even more, eventually causing the bolt to be subjected to lateral stresses which can cause it to snap. Wear on the teeth can also be caused by an incorrect bolt tightening torque. The position of the seat also affects the nature of the stress imposed.Incidents have been reported.
