Risk Description
The products pose a chemical risk because of banned azocolourants. The green scarf’s darkest shade releases 880 mg/kg of benzidine and 41 mg/kg of 4-aminobiphenyl, both of which exceed the limit of 30 mg/kg. The blue and green scarf’s blue colour releases 86 mg/kg of benzidine and 150 mg/kg of 3,3’-dimethoxybenzidine, both of which exceed the limit of 30 mg/kg. The products do not comply with the Chemical Restrictions Directive 76/769/EEC.
