Remote-controlled sockets. was recalled on 7 December 2007 under EU Safety Gate alert 1278/07. Fire risk reported by Germany. The product poses a risk of fire because:- the distance between the protective contacts was too small in four of the five test samples,- in the thermal test, the socket plate caught fire and the temperature of the contacts rose by more than 150K,- in the heat-resistance test, the socket cover became distorted so that it could no longer provide protection against spray and the socket would cease to be suitable for use out of doors.
