Rattle was recalled on 3 June 2016 under EU Safety Gate alert A12/0688/16. Chemical, Suffocation risk reported by Greece. The plastic of the packaging is too thin and, if a child plays with it, the plastic can cover the mouth and nose causing the child to suffocate.

Risk Description
The plastic of the packaging is too thin and, if a child plays with it, the plastic can cover the mouth and nose causing the child to suffocate. The product does not comply with the requirements of the Toy Safety Directive and the relevant European standard EN 71-1.The plastic parts of the product contain di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) (measured value 21% by weight). This phthalate may harm the health of children, causing possible damage to the reproductive system. The product also contains di-isononyl phthalate (DINP) (measured value 1.9% by weight). According to the REACH Regulation, the phthalates DEHP, DBP and BBP are prohibited in all toys and childcare articles and the phthalates DINP, DNOP and DIDP are prohibited in toys and childcare articles that can be placed in the mouth by children.

Multicoloured rattle in the shape of a drum made of soft material. Inside the drum there are 3 plastic balls with small bells. The product is supplied in a transparent plastic bag.
