Princess shoes was recalled on 8 September 2017 under EU Safety Gate alert A12/1208/17. Chemical risk reported by Finland. The plastic shoes contain di-(2-etylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) (measured value ˃20% by weight) and di-(2-butyl) phthalate (DBP) (measured value up to 12% by weight).

Risk Description

The plastic shoes contain di-(2-etylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) (measured value ˃20% by weight) and di-(2-butyl) phthalate (DBP) (measured value up to 12% by weight). These phthalates may harm the health of children, causing possible damage to the reproductive system. According to the REACH Regulation the phthalates DEHP, DBP and BBP are prohibited in all toys and childcare articles.
