Plush toys was recalled on 5 September 2025 under EU Safety Gate alert SR/03160/25. Choking risk reported by Poland. The toy has small parts (plastic strings connecting the hat to the animal's head) which can easily detach.

Risk Description

The toy has small parts (plastic strings connecting the hat to the animal's head) which can easily detach. A small child may put them in the mouth and choke. The product does not comply with the requirements of the Toy Safety Directive nor with the European standard EN 71-1.

Soft toy, in the shape of a capybara. Product sold online, in particular via Shein (product identification number: sl25030421116762215).

This product contains small parts that can detach and pose a choking hazard, or its size and shape make it dangerous for young children if swallowed or placed in the mouth.

Recommended action

Remove the product from children immediately. Check if any small parts are missing. If a child has swallowed a part, seek medical attention immediately. Return the product to the retailer.

Who is at risk?

Children under 3 years old are at highest risk. Supervise older children as well.
