Plush toy was recalled on 11 February 2022 under EU Safety Gate alert A12/00247/22. Choking risk reported by Slovakia. Small parts (the nose, the jingle bell and the suction cup) may be easily detached from the toy.

Risk Description

Small parts (the nose, the jingle bell and the suction cup) may be easily detached from the toy. A small child may put the detached elements in the mouth and choke. The product does not comply with the requirements of the Toy Safety Directive and the European standard EN 71-1.

Product Description

Soft toy in the form of a light brown dog (18cm) with a suction cup on top, attached with a textile cord. The toy has a red ribbon with a metal jingle bell around its neck and has black plastic glasses with blue lenses on its eyes. Eyes and nose are in plastic.

This product contains small parts that can detach and pose a choking hazard, or its size and shape make it dangerous for young children if swallowed or placed in the mouth.

Recommended action

Remove the product from children immediately. Check if any small parts are missing. If a child has swallowed a part, seek medical attention immediately. Return the product to the retailer.

Who is at risk?

Children under 3 years old are at highest risk. Supervise older children as well.
