Plug for electric cable was recalled on 20 April 2007 under EU Safety Gate alert 0343/07. Electric shock risk reported by Italy. This product poses a risk of electric shock because :- the design makes it difficult to insert and remove the plug in case of sockets that are side-by-side;- the screws which can be unscrewed to permit access to the inside of the plug are not non-removable;- in the high-temperature of 100°C for one hour, the insulating material of the samples lost its shape;- in the high-temperature of 125°C for one hour, the insulating material of the insert has an impression left by the sphere with a diameter of 4.

Risk Description
This product poses a risk of electric shock because :- the design makes it difficult to insert and remove the plug in case of sockets that are side-by-side;- the screws which can be unscrewed to permit access to the inside of the plug are not non-removable;- in the high-temperature of 100°C for one hour, the insulating material of the samples lost its shape;- in the high-temperature of 125°C for one hour, the insulating material of the insert has an impression left by the sphere with a diameter of 4.5 mm;- in the high-temperature of 180°C for 3 hours, the insulating material of the insert melts.
