Plastic toy lion was recalled on 19 September 2008 under EU Safety Gate alert 1042/08. Chemical risk reported by Poland. The product poses a chemical risk because it contains 4 % by weight of bis (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) and 8 % by weight of di-"isononyl" phthalate (DINP) which are banned in toys by the Chemical Restrictions Directive 76/769/EEC.

Product Description

The toy is a lion made of semi-soft plastic, coloured orange and dark yellow. The packaging is a transparent plastic bag closed with folded cardboard. On the cardboard are jungle pictures as well as the following markings: “CE mark”, name and address of the importer, “Made in China”, pictogram with age 0-3 restriction, and warnings like: “Not intended for children below 3 years”, “WARNING! Choking hazard – small parts”, “Store the toy out of reach of small children”.
