Risk Description

The product poses a chemical risks because it contains up to 6,9% by weight of bis (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP). Moreover, the product contains di-'isonyl' phthalate (DINP) (positive, not quantified) and a quantity of phenol exceeding the maximum permitted level of 150 mg/kg.According to the REACH Regulation the phthalates DEHP, DBP and BBP are prohibited in all toys and childcare articles, while phthalates DINP, DIDP and DNOP are prohibited in toys or childcare articles that can be placed in the mouth by children.In addition, the plastic bag contains 330 mg/kg of cadmium. The product poses an environmental pollution risk and indirect health risks because the quantity of Cadmium (expressed as Cd metal) exceeds the limit 0.01% (i.e. 100 mg/kg) by mass of the polymer. The product does not comply with the REACH Regulation.
