Risk Description

The brown plastic on the inside of the wallet contains short-chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs) (measured value up to 4.1 % by weight). It also contains cadmium (measured value: 0.013% by weight) and lead (measured value up to 1% by weight). SCCPs persist in the environment, are toxic to aquatic organisms at low concentrations and bioaccumulate in wildlife and humans, posing a risk to human health and the environment.Cadmium is harmful to human health because it accumulates in the body, can damage organs and it may cause cancer. Exposure to lead can result in severe and irreversible neuro-behavioural and neuro-developmental effects. The product does not comply with the Regulation on persistent organic pollutants (POP Regulation) and the REACH regulation.
