Risk Description

The product poses a chemical risk because the vest contains up to 20 % by weight of di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP), up to 0.17 % by weight of diisodecyl phthalate (DIDP), up to 0.85 % by weight of diisononyl phthalate (DINP). In addition, the belt contains up to 17 % by weight of DEHP. The product poses environmental risk (chemical pollution) due to the presence of up to 0.28 % by weight of short chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCP) in the belt and up to 0.19 % by weight of short chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCP) in the vest.According to the REACH Regulation the phthalates DEHP, DBP and BBP are prohibited in all toys and childcare articles, while phthalates DINP, DIDP and DNOP are prohibited in toys or childcare articles that can be placed in the mouth by children.The product does not comply with the Commission Regulation 519/2012 on persistent organic pollutants (POP Regulation).
