Phyto Cell was recalled on 29 November 2024 under EU Safety Gate alert A12/03321/24. Chemical risk reported by Italy. According to the list of ingredients, the product contains 2-(4-tert- butylbenzyl) propionaldehyde (BMHCA), hydroxyisohexyl 3- cyclohexene carboxaldehyde (HICC) and isobutylparaben, substances which are prohibited in cosmetic products.

Risk Description

According to the list of ingredients, the product contains 2-(4-tert- butylbenzyl) propionaldehyde (BMHCA), hydroxyisohexyl 3- cyclohexene carboxaldehyde (HICC) and isobutylparaben, substances which are prohibited in cosmetic products. BMHCA may harm the reproductive system, may harm the health of the unborn child and may cause skin sensitisation. HICC may cause an allergic skin reaction. Isobutylparaben might be toxic for reproduction and development and might specifically target the male reproductive system. The product does not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation.
