Risk Description
The plastic material of the product has an excessive concentration of bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) (measured values: 14.66% by weight). This phthalate may harm the health of children, causing possible damage to their reproductive system. Additionally, the product contains cadmium (measured value: 0.034% by weight). Exposure to cadmium is harmful for human health, because it accumulates in the body and can damage organs and/or cause cancer.Moreover, the product has an excessive concentration of short chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs) (measured value: 0.27% by weight). SCCPs persist in the environment, are toxic to aquatic organisms at low concentrations and bioaccumulate in wildlife and humans, posing a risk to human health and the environment. The product does not comply with the REACH Regulation nor with the Regulation on persistent organic pollutants (POP Regulation).
