Risk Description

The plastic material of the product contains an excessive amount of bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate(DEHP), dibutyl phthalate (DBP) diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP) and di-‘isononyl’ phthalate (DINP) (measured values up to 9.22%, 0.22%, 0.12% and 0.13% by weight respectively).In addition, the product also contains an excessive concentration of short chained chlorinated paraffines SCCP (measured value up to: 1749 mg/kg by weight) SCCPs persist in the environment, are toxic to aquatic organisms at low concentrations and bio-accumulate in wildlife and humans, posing a risk to human health and the environment. Prolonged exposure to them through the skin may cause cancer. The product does not comply with the Persistent Organic Pollutants (POP) Regulation nor with the REACH Regulation.
