Risk Description
This product poses a risk of injuries because the brake assistance vacuum may be reduced under cold start conditions. During engine warm up in low ambient temperatures, it is possible that the non return valve within the brake vacuum pump may intermittently stick, and by that not supply vacuum to the brake booster. If the condition occurs the driver may experience a hard brake pedal, due to the reduced brake vacuum in the brake booster. The brakes are still functioning, even if the brake vacuum assistance is reduced, but the brake pedal must be pressed harder to make up for the lack of brake vacuum assistance and in certain traffic conditions this may lead to an unsafe situation.
