Risk Description
The product poses a risk of fire because the cover of the electrical cooling fan control unit does not meet requirements and may lead to water penetration and an electrical malfunction in the control unit. In the worst case scenario, this condition may cause a short circuit and local overheating of the control unit. Should this occur, a fire could start in the engine bay. Since the fan is permanently connected to battery voltage, a fire could also start when the vehicle is parked - both in a key-on and key-off position. Three incidents reported.
