Risk Description
The outer ball joint stud on the steering gear may fracture. As a result, the driver may notice difficulty in handling manoeuvres which may cause an accident due to insufficient control of the car. The problem may appear after using the car under extreme driving conditions and intense strain of the direction system (off road driving or driving on a bumpy road). 80 accidents have been reported worldwide.
