Risk Description
The white cable the product contains excessive amounts of short chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs) and of bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) (measured values: up to 5.1 % and 8.4 % by weight, respectively). SCCPs persist in the environment, are toxic to aquatic organisms at low concentrations and bio-accumulate in wildlife and humans, posing a risk to human health and the environment. DEHP is a phthalate which may harm the health by causing possible damage to the reproductive system. The product does not comply with the Regulation on persistent organic pollutants (POP Regulation) nor with the REACH Regulation.
