Risk Description
The fuel cap may have been assembled with a gasket that is not properly fuel resistant. As a result, the gasket material could deteriorate and lose sealing ability. Fuel could then leak past the cap, especially while the outboard is being carried or stored horizontally, increasing the risk of fire.
