Risk Description
The ink contains barium (measured value 6200 mg/kg). Soluble barium salts can be absorbed from the tattoo and have toxic effects. Barium toxicity can lead to cardiac arrhythmias, respiratory failure, gastrointestinal dysfunction, paralysis, muscle twitching, and elevated blood pressure.The Council of Europe Resolution ResAP (2008)1 on requirements and criteria for the safety of tattoos and permanent make-up, recommends that barium in tattoo inks does not exceed 50 mg/kg.The product does not comply with national legislation.
