Mobile phone travel charger was recalled on 16 January 2009 under EU Safety Gate alert 0038/09. Electric shock risk reported by Slovakia. The product poses a risk of electric shock because: - the construction of the converter does not comply with the requirements on safe separation of primary windings from secondary windings, - the clearances, creepage distances and parameter of insulation between the mains part and output voltage do not comply with requirements for basic insulation, - the length of conductors enables bypassing of double insulation in case of conductor release and a possibility of presence of the mains voltage on exit connectors, - the product does not pass the voltage test between output connector cover and mains plugs for double insulation.

The product does not comply with the Low Voltage Directive and the relevant European standards EN 60950, EN 61000 and 55024.
