Mobile phone charger was recalled on 3 October 2008 under EU Safety Gate alert 1078/08. Electric shock risk reported by Slovakia. The product poses a risk of electric shock because : - the construction of the converter does not comply with the requirements on safe separation of a primary winding from a secondary one, - clearances, creepage distances and size of isolation do not comply with the requirements for double insulation, - the length of the conductors enables by-passing of double insulation in the case of connector release, and the possibility of the presence of mains voltage on the exit connector, - the product does not meet the requirements for reinforced insulation between the output connector and mains plug for double insulation, - the product does not comply with the electromagnetic emission requirements.

Risk Description
