Lighting chains was recalled on 10 April 2009 under EU Safety Gate alert 0470/09. Electric shock, Fire risk reported by Hungary. The products pose a risk of electric shock and fire because: - the soldered wires are not fixed in the flashing unit, - there is no efficient protection against twisting and pulling, - the insulation of the flashing unit is insufficient, thus flashover can occur and the product can catch fire.

Risk Description
The products pose a risk of electric shock and fire because: - the soldered wires are not fixed in the flashing unit, - there is no efficient protection against twisting and pulling, - the insulation of the flashing unit is insufficient, thus flashover can occur and the product can catch fire. Product Description
The lighting chains include 140/100 orange, green, red and blue series-parallel connected miniature lamps, a flashing unit („SPEED FUNCTION, two-core mains supply cable without marking, and a plug („2,5 A 250 V EDV”). Technical parameters: 230V 50 Hz 32W, bulb: 3,5V 0,245W, Class II, F-mark.
