Lighting chain was recalled on 11 May 2012 under EU Safety Gate alert 0719/12. Electric shock risk reported by Spain. The product poses a risk of electric shock because the flashing unit is not securely fastened to the cable of the lighting chain, with the result that live wires may become detached and thus exposed.

Risk Description
The product poses a risk of electric shock because the flashing unit is not securely fastened to the cable of the lighting chain, with the result that live wires may become detached and thus exposed.The product does not comply with the Low Voltage Directive (LVD) and the relevant European standard EN 60598 and with the relevant national standard UNE 20315.

The product is a lighting chain with 100 lamps. The cable is green. It is packed in a blue box marked: "V&F 100L. Serie De Natal (Christmas series). Fio Verde (green cable) Lampada Côres (coloured lamps)".
