Lighting chain was recalled on 14 March 2008 under EU Safety Gate alert 0308/08. Electric shock, Fire risk reported by Slovakia. The product poses a risk of electric shock and fire because:- the cover of the regulator fails the mechanical test posing a risk of access to the live parts,- the cross-section of the conductors is insufficient,length of the cable between the plug and the first light-socket is not compliant nor is the fork of the plug, - the insulating material fails the ball pressure test by 1250 C and the glow wire test.

Risk Description
The product poses a risk of electric shock and fire because:- the cover of the regulator fails the mechanical test posing a risk of access to the live parts,- the cross-section of the conductors is insufficient,length of the cable between the plug and the first light-socket is not compliant nor is the fork of the plug, - the insulating material fails the ball pressure test by 1250 C and the glow wire test. The product does not comply with the Low Voltage Directive and the relevant European standard EN 60598.

Product Description
Lighting chain comprised of 200 lights and a regulator with a rotary switch. Packing - a blue and white cardboard box with a Christmas motif on the top, data in Russian language and marking ApT. 2001- 68, 220V on the bottom.
