Risk Description
This product poses a risk of explosion because it does not comply with the provision of the relevant European standard EN ISO 9994 regarding resistance to elevated temperatures. According to the standard, gas lighters with a sealed compartment filled with non-absorbed fuel must be capable of withstanding a temperature of 65o C. 62% of the lighters tested failed to comply with the said requirement.One incident has been reported where the product exploded in a car that was parked for two days during summer.
