Light with laser pointer was recalled on 15 June 2007 under EU Safety Gate alert 0522/07. Damage to sight risk reported by Spain. This product poses a risk of damage to sight because the label states that it is a Class 3A laser, which could present a risk not only to the user but also to others, even at a considerable distance.

Risk Description

This product poses a risk of damage to sight because the label states that it is a Class 3A laser, which could present a risk not only to the user but also to others, even at a considerable distance. Prolonged exposure to moderate levels of laser light can cause irreversible changes to the eye, in particular to the retina and lens.In addition, the product is labelled incorrectly because there are no instructions for use or safety instructions. This product does not comply with the relevant European standard EN 60865.

Product Description

Light with incorporated laser pointer, bearing an adhesive metallised label stating that it is a Class 3A laser pointer. There are no instructions for use or safety instructions. It is packed in a plastic container and has an adhesive label containing the following information: "ITEM nº 0513 2 IN 1 LASER & LED. PROMOSILVA 25, S.L. B-63808877" and the bar code.
