Laser pointers was recalled on 10 July 2009 under EU Safety Gate alert 0901/09. Damage to sight risk reported by Greece. The products pose a risk of damage to sight because they incorporate a class 3A laser which is dangerous if a direct beam, or even a beam reflected off a reflective surface, strikes the unprotected eye.

Risk Description

The products pose a risk of damage to sight because they incorporate a class 3A laser which is dangerous if a direct beam, or even a beam reflected off a reflective surface, strikes the unprotected eye. Class 3 laser pointers should not be placed on the market for use by consumers.These products do not comply with the relevant European standard EN 60825.

Product Description

1. Copper laser radiation: 3-in-1 laser and LED pen in blue and in the form of a key-ring. The laser is operated by three 1.5V LR41 button cells. The product is packed in a blister box. Approximate dimensions: 12.7x6.5x1.6 cm (package), 14x2.5x1.1 cm (unpacked).2. Laser LED light: 2-in-1 laser pointer and LED light in silver and in the form of a key-ring. The laser is operated by four 1.5V AG13 button cells. The product is packed in a blister box. Approximate dimensions: 12x8x2.5 cm (package), 12.4x2.5x2 cm (unpacked).3. 2 in 1 super LED lamp: 2-in-1 laser pointer and LED light in silver and in the form of a key-ring. The laser is operated by three 1.5V AG3 button cells. The product is packed in a blister box. Approximate dimensions: 11x6.8x2 cm (package), 10x2.2x1.1 cm (unpacked).
