Laser pointers was recalled on 10 July 2009 under EU Safety Gate alert 0901/09. Damage to sight risk reported by Greece. The products pose a risk of damage to sight because they incorporate a class 3A laser which is dangerous if a direct beam, or even a beam reflected off a reflective surface, strikes the unprotected eye.

Risk Description
The products pose a risk of damage to sight because they incorporate a class 3A laser which is dangerous if a direct beam, or even a beam reflected off a reflective surface, strikes the unprotected eye. Class 3 laser pointers should not be placed on the market for use by consumers.These products do not comply with the relevant European standard EN 60825.

1. Copper laser radiation: 3-in-1 laser and LED pen in blue and in the form of a key-ring. The laser is operated by three 1.5V LR41 button cells. The product is packed in a blister box. The laser is operated by four 1.5V AG13 button cells. The product is packed in a blister box.
